ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Monday said that keeping in view the past three years' performance of the parliament, a meaningful and positive debate is expected on the budget proposals.
He added that proposals from any side for bringing improvement in the budget would be welcomed by the government.
The Prime Minister was talking to Minister for Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah and Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Mian Manzoor Wattoo, who called on him here at his Parliament House Chamber on Monday evening.
Gilani said that coordination among the coalition partners would be enhanced for generating positive debate on budget. He said that due time would be provided to opposition to express their point of view in the budget debate.
The Prime Minister said that the finance team has worked very hard in preparing a balanced and people friendly budget. He expressed the confidence that the budget would pave the way for future growth of the economy and well-being of the people of the country.(APP)
