KARACHI: Pakistan cricket is facing tough times as new issues between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and International Cricket Council (ICC) have come into limelight, Geo News reported.
According to sources, PCB has sent notice to ICC in order to get clarification on the decision that the game should be kept clean from political influences.
ICC’s executive board meeting is due this month where it is expected that the board will decide that the entire cricket board should be kept away from politics and its influences.
Earlier, an ICC executive board meeting took place where PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt was also present. It was decided that the board should not be influenced politically. However, Butt has now sent notice to ICC seeking clarification on the clause as in Pakistan, the president acts as the patron of the cricket board.
PCB is of the view that if Pakistan has to follow terms and conditions of ICC, then it will result in serious consequences as it is impossible to remove the president from patronship.
