KARACHI: Addressing a massive public gathering at Liaquatabad Flyover late on Saturday night, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said the people have made their decision that they do not want the Taliban, they want the MQM in NA-246.

Hussain said that MQM is a liberal and progressive party while Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) is a branch of Al-Qaeda and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a political branch of the Taliban.

The MQM chief also congratulated candidate Kanwar Naveed Jamil for winning the by-election in advance.
