Micro-blogging website Twitter was back up after a brief outage late Thursday.

Earlier, it was reportedly down as it experienced an outage, according to several reports around the world as well as social media status-checker Down Detector.

Reports on downdetector.com had indicated a spike to almost 47,266 users experiencing the outage.

As logged-in users continued to use the app, some were logged out while others logging in were unable to do so. Instead, a message stating "something is technically wrong" could be seen.

“Thanks for noticing—we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon,” it had added.

All users accessing Twitter "through its website, iPhone or iPad app and via Android devices" had faced similar problems, according to UK's Independent.
