ISLAMABAD: Vice President of ANP Senator Haji Muhammad Adeel on Tuesday said that Awami National Party (ANP) was committed to fighting against terrorism and extremists.
Talking to newsmen outside the Parliament, he said, "ANP will not bow before the terrorists and is determined to rooting out the menace from the country".
He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was badly affected by terrorism as thousands of innocent people and security forces had lost lives.
Haji Adeel said the ANP wanted peace in Karachi and was ready to hold talks for the purpose with any one.
He said Pakhtuns living in Karachi were daily wagers and peace in the city was essential for them to earn livelihood. He suggested that Karachi should be de-weaponized for durable peace.
He said the ANP had held a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and discussed the present situation with him.
He said Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Ginali in a meeting with an ANP delegation had ensured implementation of the decisions taken at the meeting with the Chief Minister.
It was also decided in the meeting to constitute a core committee comprising ANP and PPP representatives to discuss the issue of Sindh, he added.
To a question, Haji Adeel said the ANP wanted implementation of 18th Amendment with its true sprit.
He said the ANP had asked the Prime Minister to allocate funds for the construction of dams in KPK to generate thousands of MW electricity.
