RAWALPINDI: Nullahs in the city are being cleaned of silt and solid waste to avoid flooding due to monsoon rains, said Executive District Officer (EDO) Municipal Services Imtiaz Malik on Saturday.
Imtiaz Malik said in a press statement as per instructions of District Coordination Officer (DCO) Saqib Zafar, a comprehensive contingency plan had been prepared to deal with any situation in case of floods in coming monsoon season.
He said the work was underway in all small and big Nullahs of the city, which would be completed before the monsoon season.
The EDO said the municipal services department was also removing the construction material waste dumped along the Nullahs. It would also ensure that nobody would dump construction material.(APP)
