Shopping plaza in Lahore catches fire

LAHORE: A shopping plaza caught fire in the Shah Alam market of the city on Friday, Geo News reported.

According to reports, the fire broke out in a warehouse and spread to the fifth floor of the plaza damaging goods whose worth cannot immediately be estimated.

Fire brigade reached the spot soon after the incident and kicked off the relief operation; meanwhile, rescue efforts are also underway to free those trapped as a result.

The area is congested and has narrow access ways causing hamper in relief efforts. Nearby buildings have been evacuated because it is feared that the fire might spread.
