KARACHI: The differences between the KESC and labour union have not been resolved, Geo News reported. This has led to many areas reporting cable and PMT faults.
Residents of the city are trying to resolve cable faults themselves and complained that 10-12 hours of loadshedding is taking place on daily basis.
The government is also a silent observer during this ordeal. Residents said that no one is available to listen to their complaints on KESC’s helpline number 118.
According to the KESC, interference by the CBA union is hindering repair work. Despite court orders, KESC offices and workers are not being protected.
The CBA labour union said that they will end the protest once 4,000 employees, who were taken out of the surplus pool, will be regularised.
