'Laal Kabootar' won Archana Soy Audience Award for 'Best Feature Film' at Tasveer South Asian Film Festival

Karachi-based crime thriller, Laal Kabootar added another cap to its feather after picking up the Best Feature Film Award as part of Tasveer South Asian Film Festival (TSAFF) Archana Soy Audience Choice Awards.

Tasveer South Asian Film Festival is the largest South Asian film festival in the United States, where filmmakers and audiences engage in lively discussions, forums and other collaborative interactive formats.

Last month, Ahmed Ali Akbar bagged the award for ‘Best Actor’ at Washington DC South Asian Film Festival for his performance in the movie.

A collaboration of Geo Films and Nehr Ghar Films, Laal Kabootar directed by Kamal Khanfeatures Adeel Nawaz as Ahmed Ali Akbar, a taxi-driver bent on moving from Karachi to Dubai, and Mansha Pasha as Aliya Malik, a strong-willed woman whose world turns upside down in a series of unexpected events.

The movie is also Pakistan's official selection for the upcoming Academy Awards, Oscars 2020.
