LAHORE: Pakistan People's Party Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Waraich alleged the PML-N has broken all its election rigging records in Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections 2011.
In a press statement issued here on Sunday, he alleged the PML-N had already provided ballot papers by pre-designed scheme to its candidates and converted the elections into a battle at Lahore.
He alleged the PML-N activists opened fire at some places and dragged out the polling camps of the PPP, adding that they also closed the doors of the polling stations even for the polling staff of the election commission.
He also alleged the PML-N had posted armed teams of their activists who tortured not only PPP workers and voters but also its leaders.
He said that a case had been registered against the former PML-N MPA at Kot Ladha, Gujranwala on casting bogus votes, adding that cases were also registered against the PML-N workers in Daska, Jamkay and Bharo Chuk on casting and presenting bogus votes and ballot papers.
He alleged that PML-N activists also opened fire at Tasadaq Masood, PPP MNA in Gujranwala.
He alleged the PML-N cast bogus votes by rigging at Hallan, Natho Seva, Qila Dewan Singh and Bharmola, adding that brother of a PPP candidate in Pasroor was also arrested by the police without any allegation.
He said the PML-N had got training during the rule of dictator Zia Ul Haq and now it had exercised this training in this elections through the Punjab government.
He said the people of Pakistan condemned the rigging and wickedness of the PML-N, adding that it was the responsibility of the Punjab government to maintain the law and order situation in the province during the elections but the Punjab CM did not bother to fulfil his duties.
He said the Punjab CM even refused to listen to the call of Sardar Latif Khosa, Punjab Governor which exposed the mental level of the PML-N leadership. "Attitude of the Punjab CM is really condemnable," he added. (APP)
