KARACHI: The wave of violence continued for the third consecutive day in the metropolis. In the latest development buses were fired upon near Banaras Bridge, killing ten people and injuring twenty others, hospital sources said.

Earlier on Thursday, at least nine including a five-year old girl were killed due to firing in several areas. It was on Tuesday when the wave of violence began in the city and firing incidents were reported in Orangi Town, Hassan Square and Sher Shah. Clashes which erupted between two groups have now engulfed several parts of the city.

The wave of violence has paralysed life in Orangi Town, Aligarh Colony, Qasba Colony, Bukhari Colony, Muslimabad, Kati Pahari, Baldia Town, Rashidabad and other adjoining areas. The exchange of fire between the two groups continues despite patrolling by Rangers and Police.
