UAF professor gets FUIW Award 2010

FAISALABAD: Federation of the Universities of Islamic World (FUIW) has conferred FUIW award 2010 upon Professor Dr Muhammad Ashfaq, a veteran agriculture scientist, of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).

According to a spokesman of the university, Dr Ashfaq is presently working as Dean Faculty of Agriculture UAF. He has been given this prestigious award by Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) for the year 2010.

He said Professor Dr Ashfaq was a stalwart personality in the field of Integrated Pest Management and Agro-based Cottage Industries and has numerous distinct achievements at his credit.

He (Dr. Ashfaq) is also recipient of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (TI) from the government of Pakistan and Quaid-e-Azam Gold Medal.

Being an author of 14 books and more than 250 research articles, Dr. Ashfaq has been recognized as a legend in the domain of Agri Entomology.

Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, the vice chancellor UAF, and academic staff of the university has congratulated Dr Ashfaq on this achievement which is a great honour for alma mater also, the spokesman added. (APP)
