FAISALABAD: A qari — or religious teacher — was arrested Wednesday for alleged inappropriatesexual activities with his minor students, police confirmed, adding that they had registered a first information report (FIR) over the matter.
According to the station house officer (SHO) of Madina Town police station, the qari allegedly used to show inappropriate videos on his mobile phone to his minor students and forcefully engaged in sexual activities with them.
The SHO added that police had received requests from residents of the neighbourhood against the qari, alleging that he would show the inappropriate videos to minor students during lessons and force them to perform sexual activities with him.
Police noted that they have recovered the qari's mobile phone and initiated an investigation into the matter.
