HYDERABAD: The experts of Water Testing and Surveillance Laboratory of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro have declared the water samples of village Sanjar Chang, District Tando Allahyar as unfit for drinking.
A University spokesman informed that Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naushad Ahmed Shaikh while taking notice of a report appearing in a section of the Press about the death of a child due to Gastroenteritis had dispatched a team of experts of Water Testing and Surveillance Laboratory to village Sanjar Chang of District Tando Allahyar.
The team visited the areas and collected water samples from different parts of the area and after analysing the samples, the experts found 1442-1463 mg/L Total Dissolved Salts (TDS) which were much higher than the permissible limit of WHO.
While declaring the water unfit for drinking, the experts suggested people of the area to filter and boil the water before using it for drinking.
The experts also suggested the changing of bore places in the areas in order to overcome the water-borne and water-related diseases.
