HYDERABAD: Eminent cardiologist has expressed their concern over the increasing rate of cardiac diseases in Pakistan and said that if sincere efforts were not made to control the cardiac diseases, the death rate will pose great threat to the people.
Talking to APP here on Saturday, Dr. Feroz Memon said that death rate due to cardiac disease is not only high in Pakistan, but many countries of the World are experiencing this threat and if the effective control was not made, the death rate will reach to 25 million people every year within next 15 years.
He said that 45 percent deaths are being reported in the world because of cardiac diseases and if deaths through diabetics and blood pressure also included, the percentage of death will touch to 55 percent.
Dr. Feroz Memon said that America and European countries have beensucceeded in controlling 25 percent death rate from cardiac disease, however in other countries of the world including Pakistan; the death rate from cardiac diseases is still alarming.
Dr. Memon said that cardiac diseases can attack rapidly to the patients of diabetic and blood pressure therefore such patients must adopt preventive measures to stop cardiac disease.
He said that smoking is one of the major causes of cardiac diseases and in Pakistan 1200 children are becoming habitual of smoking daily.
He said that smoking is not only causing the cardiac diseases, but also the major sources of the cancers of different kinds.
He also called upon the people to avoid using gutka and manpuri adding that it also causing diseases of different kinds including cardiac diseases.
Dr. Feroz Memon further said that during clinical check-up cardiovascular responses like systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and pulse rate (PR) along with electrocardiography (E.C.G) were recorded is very necessary. The Heart Rate (HR) was estimated by both placatory method and E.C.G findings, he said.
