ISLAMABAD: Atleast fifteen people were burnt alive when a passenger bus caught fire due to which one of five cylinders exploded on Islamabad Express Highway Tuesday, Geo News reported.

According to initial reports, the incident happened near Korang Town when the bus was on its way from Faizabad to Kallar Syedan. There were 35 to 40 passengers in the bus at the time of explosion.

Police said the passenger bus caught fire that resulted in cylinder explosion. However, Geo News reporter said there were only four cylinders as there was no sign of the bursted cylinder.

So far, fifteen people are reported dead while scores are injured who are being shifted to the nearby hospitals. Number of casualties is feared to increase.

According to DC Islamabad, atleast six bodies have been recovered so far.
