Mirza's comments: MQM to protest today

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to stage protests across the country today against Pakistan People's Party (PPP) senior leader Dr Zulfiqar Mirza's statements against the MQM and its chief Altaf Hussain.

Soon after Zulfiqar Mirza's speech, violence erupted in several areas of the city in which at least eight people were killed, 20 hurt and 10 vehicles were torched, and shops, markets and petrol pumps were closed.
