8 police players booked

FAISALABAD: Kotwali police have booked eight volleyball players of police department on charge of fraud and counterfeiting.

According to a spokesman of Police Department, eight volleyball playersincluding Amjad, Sajid Nawaz, Arshad, Anwar, Walayat Khan, Zulifqar, Shehbaz and Afzaal had presented a letter to Line Officer Ejaz Husain, pretending that this letter was issued by Sports Board in which the said players were directed to proceed to Islamabad for participation in volleyball camp there.

On this letter, the accused took one month leave and went to their houses instead of going to Islamabad or participating in volleyball camp there.

However on verification, it came into the notice that the said letter was bogus.

Hence, Kotwali police registered a case against the accused on the complaint of Line Officer Ejaz Husain while further investigation in this regard is under progress.
