FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Development Authority has declared four housing schemes illegal and warned the people against purchasing plots there in their own interest.

In a statement issued here on Monday, a spokesman of the FDA told that private housing schemes Rafiq Garden of Chak No.117-JB, Hamza Town of Chak No.203-RB Jhumra Road, Daniyal City of Chak No.225-RB and Rehmat Town of Chak No.241 Jhang Road were illegal as these schemes were developed on few acres of land without the permission of FDA.

He that no person or agency can develop any housing scheme without the prior permission of FDA under section 12(5) of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Local Government Ordinance 2001 while minimum 160 Kanals of land are prerequisite for developing any residential scheme.

He said that the said housing schemes were developed on only few acres of land without fulfilling legal terms and conditions. Hence, these were declared illegal and the people should not purchase any plot in these schemes at all, he advised.

He further said that the FDA had also forwarded a letter to District Collector that sale and purchase deeds of these housing schemes should not be registered until and unless these schemes were approved by the FDA under rules and regulations.

The agency has also requested Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation Limited (PTCL), Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and other concerned departments not to provide utility services in the illegal housing schemes for greater interests of their departments as well as for public, he added.
