Huge protest in Karachi against load shedding

KARACHI: A large number of people staged a big demo against KESC load shedding at Korangi Road and blocked the vehicular traffic.

Angry mob pelted vehicles with stone. Police and law enforcing personnel were summoned to disperse the angry people, protesting against frequent load shedding and resultant shortage of potable water. The protestors raised slogans against the government and KESC and demanded to end cruel load shedding in the city.

The road blockage resulted in huge traffic jams in many areas of the city. Senior police officers were engaged in dialogue with protestors to urge them dispersing peacefully when filing this report.
