Cop injured in blast dies

MULTAN: The death toll of the June 26 blast here at a police post rose to two after another constable died of burns injuries at the Nishtar Hospital on night between Thursday and Friday.

The blast was caused by fireworks stored inside the Qazafi police post. It left many policemen injured besides damaging the building and motorcycles.

Moharrir Khadim Hussain died from wounds seven days ago and the toll rose to two late Thursday night after constable Irshad Hussain also lost the battle of survival at the burn unit of Nishtar Hospital.

His Namaz-e-Janaza was offered at his native town, Gajjo Hatta after Friday prayers in tehsil Shujabad and he was buried at a local graveyard there. Police officials, his relatives and friends attended the Namaz-e-Janaza.
