RAWALPINDI: Professional career counseling workshop for the students of semester V (Masters) and VIII (Bachelor) successfully concluded at Fatima Jinnah Women University on Friday.

The four-day workshop had the series of sessions and it helped the students to understand and decide their future perspective in practical life. It was also aimed at preparing them to adjust themselves in prevailing professional working environment.

The ultimate goal was to build a rational sense of selecting career according to one's aptitude, personality, interest and skills, says FJWU's press release.

Resource persons were Mr. Syed Haider Ali Gillani, Mr. Saad Majeed, Ms. Nadia Masood, Ms. Sidra Hareem Zulfiqar and Mr. Sohaib Saleem for this workshop.

They discussed the career counseling and CV writing subject. It was noted that counseling is a perpetual process that goes gradually in the career of every individual. It's a need of hour to actively listen an individual's story and provide one to one group professional assistance in exploring the job opportunities.

The students were also briefed about the stress management in the professional zone. Initial hard work of any individual paid later on longer basis, since the market competition is very high.

They students were also provided some tips to reduce stress. It was imperative to build friendly social environment, positive attitude, affirmative appearance, punctuality and good communication skills.

The concluding session of the workshop was about the "Job Interview Skills". Mr. Sohaib shared his experiential knowledge about the job interview's strength and weakness, emotional intelligence, interviewer psyche and follow ups with the number of students.

He discussed the several types of interview and advised student, to be a professional with positive attitude, understanding and clear frame of mind like a positive thinker. He added that positive thinkers are productive for the society however the negative thinkers are like a barren land. Sessions was made interactive through supportive videos and discussion.
