THIMPHU: The conference of interior ministers of SAARC countries has started here Saturday, Geo News reported. Interior Minister Rehman Malik reached at the capital of Bhutan, Thimphu to attend the conference where he will be representing Pakistan.
At the airport, Rehman Malik was received by the Interior Minister of Bhutan and Governor of Paru.
Indian Interior Minister, P Chidambaram, Senior Minister of Sri Lanka A.H Fouzi and Interior Minister of Maldives Hasan Mazboot also reached in Bhutan simultaneously to attend the conference.
Malik will be presiding over the inaugural meeting of the conference today (Saturday) being the chairman of the SAARC interior ministers.
On his way to Bhutan, Interior Minister had brief stayed in New Delhi where P Chidambaram and High Commissioner of Pakistan received him.
During the conference, issues of mutual interests including human trafficking, drugs control and immigration laws will be discussed.
