ISLAMABAD: With ever increasing number of vehicles, the motorists are facing problems like traffic jams and lack of parking space in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

It has been observed that people are facing parking problems at Aabpara, Karachi Company, Super Market, Jinnah Super, Weekly Bazaar G-6, Raja Bazaar, Commercial Market, Saddar and at other public places.

The visitors at markets have to park their vehicles along the main road that not only creating traffic jams, but also resulting in accidents at times.

Moreover, going for shopping to G-6 bazaar on motorbike is a nightmare, as they have to park their bikes either on footpath or on the roads.

An official of Capital Development Authority (CDA) told APP that the authority has constructed parking lots in H-9 weekly bazaar to redress the parking problem.

He said that the newly constructed parking lots have the capacity to accommodate almost 1,000 vehicles and would also help solve traffic problem around the bazaar.

He said that the civic body was well aware of the problems being faced by the people and would try to address these problems.

The CDA has also planned to construct parking lots in major markets of the city to ensure free flow of traffic, he added.
