LAHORE: Railway passengers, especially children and women, have been facing problems due to hours-long delay in trains departure, Geo News reported on Monday.

Passengers complained that they had to wait more than 12 hours for trains.

According to details, Karachi Night Coach which had to leave for Karachi yesterday (Sunday) at 11:00 am, arrived at 3:00 am today. The same is with the several other trains.

Like other parts of the country, not a single train was on time in Lahore as a majority of them were over 12 hours late, with some registering 14 hours delay.

Passengers and their relatives were seen protesting helplessly at railway stations but to no avail.

The deplorable state of facilities at railway stations and the hot weather prevalent in the country have added to the misery of people.

The waiting area of the Lahore Railway Station was swarmed with people. The story of the miserable state of facilities at the waiting area of Lahore Railway Station has been narrated innumerable times yet the nightmare continues.

Even the provision of clean drinking water has not been ensured by the PR authorities in the waiting hall and the poor, frustrated people are exploited as they have to buy water from the kiosks.
