KABUL: A helicopter from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) crashed in eastern Afghanistan on Monday but all passengers and crew members were safe, ISAF said.

Coalition rescue forces came under insurgent fire when they approached the crash site and returned fire, ISAF said. The cause of the crash is being investigated and ISAF has not ruled out the possibility the helicopter was shot down by insurgent fire, an ISAF spokesman said.
