KARACHI: A viral video on social media shows a car driver wielding a gun at a biker who had stopped in front of him in the city's posh Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area in what appears to be an altercation.

The video shows a car driver wielding a gun at a biker parked in front of him in the metropolis' upscale Defence Housing Authority (DHA) neighbourhood in what appears to be an altercation.

In the video, the man gets out of a black Toyota Royal Crown Saloon, suddenly whips out a gun, and points it at the motorcyclist, who is wearing a helmet.

The two then exchange heated words, with the car driver pointing sideways and seemingly threatening the biker.

According to ESShahzar, the Twitter user who posted the video, it was "the most absurd thing you’ll ever see on the roads of Karachi" and that the "man is pointing a gun to a guy on the motorbike for no reason near Zamzama Park".

"Surely law enforcement agencies must take action?" he asked, underscoring that the car's registration plate indicated it was from Islamabad.

He added that the man's bike had allegedly broken down in front of the car.

Interestingly, Clifton police station informed Geo News that no complaint had been filed in this regard. However, the car driver told officials at the same police station that he had assumed the biker was about to mug him, which is why he took out his gun.

Police said they were carrying out an inquiry after he claimed his weapon was registered.
