HYDERABAD: Medical Superintendent Liaquat University Hospital (Civil Hospital) Ghulam Mustafa Abbassi has urged the nurses to perform their duty for the ailing patients who need their help.
Speaking at the induction ceremony of newly appointed nurses in the hospital on Monday, the MS reiterated his resolve to improve the Hospital's services.
"Being the biggest hospital in Sindh in terms of patients served, it is our utmost responsibility to maintain the quality of health service," he underscored.
Dr. Abbassi said that the Health Department was committed to bring about extensive reforms in the health sector through inductionof new doctors and staff and provision of latest equipment and machinery.
Underlining the importance of nursing, the MS emphasised that it was an indispensable part of the medical profession as the nurses have to look after a patient for longer than a doctor.
"The nurses should take their work seriously in order to remove the growing perception against the profession," he stressed.
He said the responsibility over the doctors and nurses at the Civil Hospital was higher than any other hospital in the city or interior Sindh because the Hospital provides healthcare to patients not only from Hyderabad but from various other cities and villages in the province.
He warned the doctors and nurses that the hospital would not tolerate any negligence in duty and disciplinary action will be taken in such a case.
MS Para Medical Staff Dr. Inayat Memon, Assistant MS Dr. Manan Shaikh, Assistant MS Accounts Najeed Ahmed Qureshi and other senior doctors were also present on the occasion.
