KARACHI: Sindh Chief Secretary, Raja Muhammad Abbas, has stressed the need to evolve a system for preservation and protection of cultural heritage, in accordance with the legal framework.
He was presiding over a meeting of the Sindh Cultural Heritage Committee, here on Tuesday.
It was decided in the meeting to initiate preservation work of tombs of Mirza Jani Baig and Diwan Shurafa Khan, and historical mosque located within the premises of Dargah Hazrat Shah Fuzail at Makli, in district Thatta according to rules.
The committee also agreed for undertaking the conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of Quaid-e-Azam House Museum located at the junction of Shahrah-e-Faisal and Fatima Jinnah Road, Karachi.
The meeting also considered the ways and measures for expeditious action on the decisions of the committee.
Eminent Architects Arif Hassan, Suhail Kalhoro, Dr. Prof. Aneela Naim, Secretary Culture Abdul Aziz Uqaili and other also attended, the meeting. (APP)
