Manzoor Pashteen sent on 14-day judicial remand

Pashteen was arrested from the Tahkal area of Peshawar during the early hours of Monday morning.

According to the FIR filed against the PTM chief, he is accused of using threatening and derogatory language against the state during a gathering in DI Khan on Jan 18.

He was presented before the court of Magistrate Naveed Ullah Gigiani, who handed him over to law enforcement authorities on a 14-day judicial remand on Monday.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story had incorrectly stated that MNA Ali Wazir and senior politician Afrasiab Khattak had been arrested from the protest. It has since emerged that only MNA Mohsin Dawar has been arrested. The error is regretted.
