FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will launch Food Engineering Degree Programme this year to produce trained manpower to cope with challenges of food security and value-added produces.

This was stated by UAF, VC Professor Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan while addressing an international seminar on solar energy here on Wednesday.

Professor Dr. B.K Bala from Bangladesh Agricultural University attended the event as guest of honor while Faculty of Engineering Dean Professor Dr. Rae Niaz Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.

The vice chancellor called for taking tangible steps to increase the production and producing quality researches in the field of agriculture.

He stressed the need to narrow the gap between knowledge and implementation. He said that it is essential to enhance the capacity of the people associated with the field by holding workshops, training programs and seminars etc.
