MULTAN: A youth and a teenage girl were allegedly killed for the sake of "honour" by the relatives of the girl during early hours on Thursday.

SHO Qutabpur police station, Arif Siddiqui said that Irram, 16-year-old daughter of Mohammad Jameel of Ghulamabad, had gone missing since the first week of July 2011.

Her relatives continued to search for her. Recently, they came to know that she had eloped with Arshad of the same area.

The girl's relatives searched out them in Rawalpindi andbrought them back on the midnight between Wednesday and Thursday.

They brought them to the street outside their home in Multan and killed them with repeated blows of sharp-edged weapons.

The SHO said that the girl's uncle Wakeel, relatives Sajan and Dastgeer had turned themselves to police almost an hour after the killings. The weapons of offence have been taken into custody.

The SHO said that some six to seven people might be involved in the case and more people would be arrested after investigation.

Meanwhile, relatives of Arshad have left their home and police were in search of them to file an application for an FIR against the accused.
