ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Friday resumed the hajj corruption case after giving the government yet another 24 hours to reinstate Sohail Ahmed to his post of Establishment Secretary and submit Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's response to the court's concerned.
Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq told a six-member bench of the apex court hearing the Haj corruption case headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry that Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Syed Mehdi Shah has stopped Hussain Asghar from returning and he is in Kachura.
Isn''t simple issue being turned complicated, the CJP questioned.
The court had directed the Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq to submit the prime minister's response by today. Other members of the bench hearing the Haj corruption case are Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Mahmood Akhtar Shahid Siddiqui, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Tariq Parvez and Justice Amir Hani Muslim.
