MASTUNG: Mir Akmal Raisani, nephew of Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani, who was killed in a blast, has been laid to rest in his native area of Kank, Geo News reported.
The funeral was attended by many prominent personalities including Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani, Senator Lashkar Raisani and Siraj Raisani (Akmal’s father). His body was taken from Sarawan House in Quetta to Kank where he was buried in his ancestral graveyard.
Strict security measures were taken during the funeral.
He was killed in an explosion followed by severe firing with automatic weapons here in a football ground on Friday evening.
Local police said deceased Akmal along with his father Nawabzadah Siraj Raisani, who was the chief guest on the occasion of final of a football tournament, were proceeding towards their vehicle after the match when the explosion took place. It was followed by severe firing.
As a result, Akmal received multiple injuries and breathed his last on way to Quetta.
Nawabzadah Siraj Raisani, younger brother of the Balochistan Chief Minister, luckily remained completely safe.
The incident has been widely condemned across the province.
