KABUL: The United States Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Admiral Mike Mullen has alleged that there were still several strongholds of al Qaeda network inside Pakistan.

Addressing the troops here during a third day of his visit to Afghanistan, Mullen said there are still safe heavens of terrorists which included Lashkar e Taiba and Haqqani network, in Pakistan's tribal region.

Mullen claimed that US commandos believed that security affairs have improved. However, deadly attacks against US forces were carried out in Afghanistan on the same day.

He said that terrorist wanted to topple Afghan govt.
