PESHAWAR: PESCO Chief Executive, Muhammad Wali here Thursday appealed consumers to conserve energy in order to ensure smooth flow of electricity during Ramadanul Mubarak.

Muhammad Wali said consumers' cooperation can overcome energy crisis and will ensure smooth flow of electricity to consumers in Iftari and Taraveeh prayer, says a press release here on Thursday.

PESCO is taking all possible steps to overcome energy crisis and support of people to use less electricity during peak hours from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm would highly be welcomed.

The industrial consumers have been requested by PESCO Chief to extend their cooperation to save at least 25% energy and all commercial consumers to close all shopping plazas and shops before 8.00 pm sharp and switch-off all street-lights especially bill boards must be switched-off.

The domestic consumers are also requested to use energy savers and tube-lights instead of bulbs and iron their clothes in day time so that energy could be saved, he added. The consumers have been urged to minimize use of air conditioned and its thermostat must be kept at 26 degree to save electricity.

Tubewell operators are requested to operate tube wells in accordance with load shedding schedule so that customers do not face difficulties in getting water.

As per quota of 880 MW, Pesco is carrying out 7 to 8 hours loadshedding in Urban areas and 8 to 9 hours in Rural areas.

Due to severe over loading, RCC Islamabad carried out 230 MW forced load shedding in different parts of Khyber Puktoonkhwa, it added.
