LAHORE: The annual Islamic calligraphy exhibition featuring artwork of different genres by various artists began at Alhamra Arts Gallery here on Monday under the auspices of Punjab Council of the Arts.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Mohyuddain Ahmad Wani, Secretary Information, Culture and Youth Affairs, Punjab and attended by people from different walks of life.

Almost 80 prominent artists put on display their artwork. The exhibition not only serve as a platform for promoting local art, but also as a means of getting together the professionals and fresh talent to network with each other.

The exhibition will continue till August 13.
