LONDON: Prime Minister David Cameron said Wednesday that water cannon -- never used in mainland Britain -- would now be available to police to deal with riots.

"While they are not currently needed, we now have in place contingency plans for water cannon to be available at 24 hours' notice," Cameron said after a fourth night of rioting in Britain. (AFP)
