LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer, Ahamd Raza Tahir has urged Ulema to play an effective role in promoting religious harmony and ridding the society of bigotry.

He was talking to a 10-member Shia Ulema delegation which called on him at CCPO office here on Wednesday under the leadership of its chairman Alhaj Haidar Ali Mirza.

The CCPO said that Ulema should propagate the message of peace, harmony and brotherhood during the holy month of Ramzan. He said by following the golden principles of Islam, which teaches unity and brotherhood, all heinous crimes, including terrorism, could be eliminated from the society.

The Ulema assured the CCPO of their wholehearted cooperation in elimination of terrorism and other heinous crimes. The said they would leave no stone unturned in thwarting nefarious designs of anti-social elements who were out to create chaos in the country. (APP)
