Independence Day celebrations gain momentum in KP

PESHAWAR: Like elsewhere, the 64th Pakistan Independence Day celebrations have gained momentum in the provincial capital and other parts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa where people were seen busy in purchasing national flags, stickers and badges to show their love with Pakistan.

Great enthusiasm has been witnessed among youth as they were purchasing Pakistan flags gifts, T-Shirts, stickers and buntings in variety of designs at Qisakhwani bazaar, Jhangi Mohallah, Khyber Bazaar, Karimpura, Hasthnagri, Cantonment, Board etc.

The students are taking keen interest in purchase of stickers with photos of national heroes to pay homage to leaders of freedom movement who created Pakistan for Muslims of South Asia.

Meanwhile, the government and semi-government departments have arranged different programmes to mark Pakistan Independence Day in most befitting manner.

The private organizations and educational institutions have also arranged various programmes to celebrate Independence Day with full national spirit and enthusiasm.

The Khyber Pakthunkhwa Culture Department has also devised special programmes to educate youth and highlight importance of this momentous day. (APP)
