RAWALPINDI: Chairman 'Sasti Roti' Authority Punjab, Member National Assembly (MNA) Muhammad Hanif Abbasi along with District Coordination Officer (DCO) Saqib Zafar visited 'Sasta Model Bazaar' Liaquat Bagh, and other 'Sasta Bazaars' of Nawaz Sharif Public Park and Committee Chowk here on Thursday.
Talking to Media persons he said 'Sasta Ramazan Bazaars' are being held to provide relief to the citizens on the special directives of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The CM has also directed that no compromise should be made on quality of daily use items and edibles, he added.
He said that solid steps for the provision of quality products to the consumers have been made by the Rawalpindi district administration.
District Food Controller Shabbir Khan Niazi, Assistant Commissioner City Saif Anwar Jabba, Assistant Food Controller Muhammad Saleem Butt, Incharge Sunday Bazaar Committee Malik Nawaz Zaman, Incharge Sasta Model Bazaar Malik Ghulam Abbas and Incharge Public Park Sasta Bazaar Aftab Ahmed Chohan were also present on this occasion.
DCO Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar said that adequate quantity of subsidized flour in Sasta Ramazan Bazaars is available while separate arrangements have been made for disabled persons and women so that there should be no difficulty for the consumers in getting subsidized atta.
Market Committee staff on this occasion said that fruits and vegetables are being supplied to the consumers on controlled rates and the rates in Sasta Ramazan Bazaars are lower than on the open market.
Muhammad Hanif Abbasi during the visit purchased three kg mutton, tomatoes and some vegetables and appreciated the quality of the commodities.
Hanif Abbasi expressing satisfaction over cleanliness and other arrangements made to facilitate the consumers said the quality of daily use items must be maintained in all these bazaars. He said the mechanism adopted to control rates of necessary items in Ramazan Sasta Bazaars should be implemented strictly.
DCO said that all out efforts are being made to control prices of kitchen items and no compromise would be tolerated on quality of products.
