KARACHI: Secretary General Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Nadeem-ul-Islam Monday announced disassociation with MQM-P - a faction led by Afaq Ahmed - along with other party workers and tendered apology to MQM Chief Altaf Hussain for affiliation with Afaq Ahmed whom he alleged to have misguided party workers.

"Being secretary general of the party, I hereby announce dissolving MQM-H in the best interest of Muhajir people," he stated this at the crowded press conference at Karachi Press Club.

Islam, flanked by members central executive committee of MQM-P including Irfan Engineer, Asif Lodhi, Zonal In-charge Hyderabad Tariq Sheikh and Joint In-charge Irfan Qureshi and other workers, said it was due to our mistake which harmed and violated the interests of Muhajir people.

"Afaq Ahmed let us remain engaged in a war-like situation under pretexts of fighting for the rights of Muhajir people for two decades," he charged. He said now we had realized our mistake and tendered our humble apology to 'Quaid-e-Tehreek' Altaf Hussain to forgive our misdeeds that were committed by us un-deliberately".

Nadeem-ul-Islam said presently he has decided to leave MQM-P, while soon other workers would also follow suit.

Extending his sheer support to Altaf Hussain, he said Hussain was the right and courageous man to lead Urdu-speaking people and those belonging to different casts whose rights have been infringed upon.

Responding a question, he said there were around a total of 450 workers associated with MQM-P and soon all of them would join MQM. (PPI)
