FAISALABAD: Owners of 12 hotels, canteens and eatery shops were sent to jail here on Monday on charge of violating Ehtiram-e-Ramzan Ordinance.
According to a spokesman of City District Government (CDG), Assistant Commissioner City Zaheer Anwar Jappa conducted raids in various parts of Jhang Bazaar, Regal Chowk and Douglas Pura and found owners of 5 hotels, canteens and eatery shops including Taj Muhammad, Shajar Abbas, Haneef Dar, Abbas and Muhammad Aslam violating Ehtiram-e-Ramzan Ordinance during fasting times. Hence, the raiding officer sent them behind the bars for 72 hours each. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Jaranwala Adnan Shehzad found 7 hotel owners Bashir Ahmad, Umar Hayat, Mohsin, Ashiq, Saeed Ahmad, Muhammad Afzaland Asif Ali violating this ordinance. Hence the raiding officer conducted their challans and sent them to jail for 24 hours.
The raiding officer also imposed a fine of Rs 7,000 on each of them.
