Rain-hit people hold protest rally in Badin

BADIN: A large number of people displaced due to recent rains held a protest rally near Qazia Wah Bridge here Tuesday over the lack of facilities including hygienic food and clean drinking water in the relief camps.

The protestors said that they are being provided poor quality food and contaminated water, further spreading diseases. They also said that growth of mosquitoes and flies is on the rise as stagnant rainwater is still on roads and streets, causing malaria and waterborne illnesses.

They said that they are forced to live at these makeshift relief camps as their homes and villages have been inundated after the recent rains. They demanded of the government to provide them better facilities and carry out spray campaigns in rain-hit areas. (PPI)
