FAISALABAD: The provincial government will launch a pilot project for the provision of milk through automated milk dispensers.
According to a spokesman, initially this project will be started in Lahore where 10 to 20 units will be established with an estimated cost of Rs.50 million.
He said that these units will ensure the availability of pure and fresh milk at affordable prices for the consumers.
He said the main objective behind this project is to check the mal trend of adulteration and contamination as loose milk available in the market is 97 percent unhygienic due to its adulteration and contamination.
This project will not only help in bridging the gap between milk producers and consumers but also ensure the provision of 100 percent hygienically processed milk in the market, he added.
