LAHORE: The villagers already marooned by surrounding water keep their fingers crossed, while waiting for the second flash flood coming from India in river Sutlej.

District Administration said that 35/37 thousand cusecs of water presently passing through river Sutlej, bringing miseries for the nearby marooned villages including Bhakkhi Wind, Chanda Singh wala, Pattan, Kamalpura, Masti etc. surrounded by water.

The administration has handed over the motorboats brought here for the relief camp to the villagers on their strong protests for lack of any transportation means for them.

Kasur DCO, Syed Irshad Hussain told Geo News that the water level would drop by the evening. He said that medical teams have been sent to the affected villages apprehending any epidemic breaking out.
