QUETTA: The lawmakers in the session of the Balochistan Assembly on Friday passed unanimously Balochistan Police Bill 2011.
Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani presided over the assembly sitting, of which second session started after one hour interval of Friday prayers.
Minister for Industries, Syed Ahsan Shah on behalf of Home Minister tabled the Balochistan Police Bill 2011. The bill was exempted from Rule 84 of conduct of Balochistan Assembly business 1974.
The mover moved motion that under Rule 225, rules be suspended so that the police bill could be tabled for approval. Later, he moved the bill which was adopted unanimously.
Pakistan Muslim League-Q, MPA, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail regretted that no requirements of legislation were being met in the Balochistan Assembly.
He said, unfortunately, a government department used to compiled draft of a bill and later, it was placed in the house for approval. He said neither the draft of the bill was presented before the relevant standing committee nor the lawmakers were consulted in this regard. We do not know what amendment was made through the bill in the laws pertaining to Balochistan police, he said.
Minister for Youth Affairs and PML-N leader Cap (Retd ) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai said it was better if the bill was presented for approval after three days after it was exempted from the rule 84 of Conduct of Balochistan Assembly business of 1974.
Minister for Health, Aainullah Shams moved Basic Health Services Balochistan Bill 2011. The bill was exempted from Rule 84 of Conduct of the Assembly business 1974. Later, after completion of other proceedings of the assembly, the chair adjourned the house till Monday, August 22.
