Comprehensive security plan for last Ashra of Ramadan

RAWALPINDI: Rawal Town Police is implementing a comprehensive security plan, especially devised for last 'Ashra' of Ramazan-ul-Mubarik said Superintendent Police Rawal Town Malik Matloob Ahmed Awan.

He said 280 additional police officers have been deployed particularly to cover main city markets, mosques in Rawal Town while 11 check posts have been established for the checking of vehicles at entry and exit points of the city. Eight rapid response squads have also been formed, he informed.

Under tight security arrangements made by the police, plain-clothes police personnel have also been deployed in the markets with the consultation of traders.

He said a special control room has been established at Rescue 15 to meet any situation.

SP Rawal Town said best security arrangements with available resources were made to ensure security of the religious places, mosques and city markets.

He said five police stations of Rawalpindi city, Buni Police Station, Peerwadhai Police Station, New Town, Sadiqabad and Waris Khan Police stations have been provided additional police force while Gunjmandi and City Police Stations have also been given 80 police personnel on permanent basis. While every police station of Rawal Town has been provided one contingent of reserve police force to meet shortage of staff, he said.

Entire city is being monitored through control room established at Rescue 15, he said adding, one rapid response squad is attached with Rescue 15.

He said that the security plan for the city markets was devised with the consultation of President Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran Shahid Ghafoor Paracha, Ch. Muhammad Iqbal and other traders.

Superintendent Police Malik Matloob Awan said that plain-clothespolice officers have been given the task to cover city markets.

He said all out efforts are being made for the protection of the citizens and best possible arrangements are being made in the regard.
