336 shopkeepers fined for profiteering

FAISALABAD: As many as 336 shopkeepers were fined on the charge of profiteering during the last two days.

According to a spokesman of the City District Government, Special Price Control Magistrates conducted 117 raids in 244 markets, bazaars and shopping plazas on Sunday and Monday and found 336 shopkeepers involved in profiteering.

Hence, the raiding officers imposed a fine of total Rs 350,800 on them.

Meanwhile, cases have also been registered against 9 shopkeepers on violation of Price Control Act, the spokesman added.
