RAWALPINDI: Chief Minister OF Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said that a number of schemes, including yellow cab scheme, costing billions of rupees were being launched for providing maximum job opportunities to the youth.
He said that these schemes included loans amounting to Rs 50,000 for the youth for enabling them to start their own business.
The Chief Minister was addressing a function held here regarding balloting for yellow cab scheme.
He attended three balloting functions for yellow cabs scheme in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Rawalpindi on Monday.
The Chief Minister said that like Daanish schools, the yellow cab scheme has also been launched from Southern Punjab for eliminating unemployment. under the scheme, 20,000 vehicles would be distributed among male and female educated youth which would cost Rs 15 billion, he added.
He said that the scheme was a step forward towards eliminating unemployment.
He said that 100,000 computers would be given this year to the talented position holder students of matric, FA, F.Sc, BA, B.Sc examinations as gifts.
He said that 50 percent population of Punjab comprised youth and providing jobs to them was a big challenge but he was determined to steer the country and the people of province out of backwardness and crisis.
According to quota of this scheme 1554 vehicles would be distributed in the Rawalpindi division, including 840 vehicles for the tehsils of Rawalpindi district. (APP)
